Default Troubleshoot- Solenoid Firing on Startup

Good evening, first post of many I’m sure. New to the hobby and looking forward to many years of continued fun and knowledge.

I was gifted a “Golden Duck” Big Chance from my mom about five years ago, finally dug it out and have had many hours of fun with. Bug bit me, bought another machine that works flawlessly which has provided many more hours of fun.

Tonight I had someone drop off three more machines for a mere $100 (has somewhere about 1K tokens as well, score!!) so I’m absolutely ahead regardless. One works great no issues, the other needs address at the coin intake- seems to be missing a metal flap that keeps the coins from spitting out back at you. I made a rudimentary fix out of cardboard and have tested by machine gunning tokens in without fail, good enough fix for now.

This brings me to my problem child - it’s called a “Naughty Ghost Phantom” seems to be older as it plays with 1-2- or 3 tokens. Power supply (inverter?)? Is hanging a bit loose. It functions turns on plays reel spin (albeit most of lights are burnt out - speculation below).

I turned on the “hopper” switch and immediately the solenoid continuously fires. I have tried unsticking and feeding coins manually, thinking was stuck in a payout mode. I’ve looked at wires and all seems okay. The pay out / token return button functions as normal. I am unsure why this solenoid is acting up?

could it be as simple as a bad solenoid, or perhaps something deeper I am unfamiliar to troubleshooting?

I was unable to upload a video of what is going on utmost apologies

Please bear with me as this is my first post, and moreover - my first week into this very fun hobby! Hopefully my quick overview sheds some light on this issue. I do have a basic understanding of electrical and electrical components, a couple different meters, and the internet at my disposal - more than able to provide more information at the request of some experienced members.

    With utmost appreciation,

I thought judging by the looks that it was a rebranded machine
But it was originally made that way.

Me being dumb. What do you mean by solenoid. I'm used to machines with motorized hoppers. I haven't seen a solenoid payout since a mid eighties barcrest fruit machine.
