I'm guessing the E-7 error code is because the machine hasn't been powered ON for awhile.

A full reset should clear the code.

Heiwa and Olympia are the same company and here is a list of error codes for these manufacturers.

    TY!

I tried the reset yesterday but could not get it to change. I did notice on the board on the side (see pic) the bottom relay clicks about 5 times and the bottom led light (F07)flashes on power up. The led does not stay on.

I also noticed on the main board I can light all test led’s except #9 that is listed as the hopper sensor. I cleared a jammed coin from it but still cannot get it to light.

I’ll try the reset again tonight and see what happens. I’m thinking that relay on the side board ‘external centralized terminal board’ has a bad relay??

data counter output board. shouldn't effect operation. even if not there.

Is it the hopper full sensor (2 prongs on the back to the right of the hopper)

interesting on that data counter. I actually tried starting and resetting with and without that board hooked up. No luck.

checked the hopper full sensor and it looks fine no coins in the overflow bin and both prongs isolated, not touching anything.

It’s weird I cannot get it to go into reset mode? I have tried multiple times to get it to reset but it is just stuck on E7

Any difference with the machine when you turn it on with the settings key in either position?

It has been known for the switch or wiring to be faulty.

No, no difference either way. I was going to take a look at that wiring next, it just acts like it won’t go into reset mode no matter what.

Still nothing on this game. Hmmmmm

i cannot get the E7 error to clear no matter what I do. I did notice there are doors on the video screen that are currently open. I don’t know if they should be open or closed.

i removed the PS and looked at the key switch and everything looks good, solder joints look good there are no wires from the key switch

im stumped at where to go next

This line confuses me. Is the key switch attached direct to the pcb?

yes, it is attached directly to the main power supply board. When you turn the key to ‘ON’ it engages a push button switch also soldered to the main board. The switch is testing out good

So you said you removed 1 jammed token from the hopper, correct ? I had a machine that had the E7 error code on it when I bought it. I found the code was refering to a hopper jam, so i took the hopper out , emptied all the tokens out and it looked fine. I looked closer and saw a very slight edge of a token, in the recessed area (round token size recess) where the tokens on the bottom of the hopper fall into. That token was under a part of the bottom plate that I couldn't see because it was spun in between where you couldn't see it. I manually spun the bottom coin plate that turns, and saw a token there. It was stuck with some kind of sticky substance in the token hole. I had to pry it out because it was stuck with the sticky stuff. I then turned the plate a little more on around and there was another coin stuck in a different hole with more sticky stuff ! I decided to take the hopper completely apart and throughly clean it. After putting it back together I filled the hopper with tokens and did a full reset . Good news.... no more E7 code. I'm just sharing what I found. Maybe check what I said just in case you have a jammed token you overlooked.

this machine has a Main Board LED Display List and the sensor LED pulses when I manually turn the hopper and it ejects a coin. it tests out fine

I am thinking one of the relays is bad in that stop reel board causing issues with the resetting. I may change them out.

I admit I am stumped and I’m usually good at tracking down the issue and fixing. Every time I power it up I can hear the front screen door motors energize and the relay and LED at position F07 click/blink 3 times rapidly and go out. it does this no matter what my key position is on the main PU.

E7 on this machine is a backup error code that is supposedly reset by performing a settings change. I can’t seem to get it to go into the reset mode for some reason

Yes, and they are all working correctly

I found a battery in the board with the ROM chips. the original tamper tag is intact on the box so I’m wondering if replacing the battery would solve the issue of the Back-Up error.

not sure what size this battery is? Stamped 71 and has a blue boarder. Is see no other numbers on it

not yet. I’m going to leave the game plugged in overnight and see if it has any affect on things. I am not sure when the last time the game was plugged in before I got it.

I’ll give it a good 24 hours plugged in and reporter back
