    Default Kyoraku "scarlet" disaster/rebuild/restore

    20240831_235913.jpg 20240831_235851.jpg

So after I rebuilt a sanyo comet II, I got stupid and picked up this 1985 Kyoraku. So led/lcd no signs of life, at least 2 bad caps so I think I'll just replace them all. Shooter just makes a groning noise when you turn it and has been opened up previously. I have been into it yet but am fearful for parts to fix it. How bad off would you guys say I am?

    WELCOME!!!

Well I think it's a lucky pachi for having been rescued by you!!

I probably wouldn't be able to fix it, but it helps that early moderns share some stuff with vintages, and vintages have been getting easier to fix the past few years with 3D printing!!

And with the electronics being older, hopefully they are a tad simple to trouble shoot??

Guess all I can say is good luck!!

20240904_164151.jpg20240904_225219.jpg20240904_225228.jpg Ok so the spring in picture 1 pretty much perfect for the launcher. Just connect from launcher rivet to the hook on the tensioner. Not quite the factory install but again it works well. Now moving on the circuit board. This controls most of your lights, speaker, sensors and solenoids. So in picture 2 the red square is the power circuit and the blue square is the audio circuit. So in my case I have a leaking C1 and buldging C4 capacitors in the power circuit which should be why this guy isn't firing up.

    Full Cap Kit List
    Power Circuit

    C38 220uf 10v
    C34 470uf 10v
    C26 2.2uf 50v
    C24 2.2uf 50v
    C41 470uf 10v

    Sound Circuit
    C25 2.2uf 50v44
    C44 100uf 25v
    C45 47uf 25v
    C22 10uf 25v
    C20 1000uf 35v

Hopefully this list will help others with dead Kyoraku motherboards because they appear a bit similar from pachi to pachi.
