Default what a surprise and riddle ...

... today I checked the long spring to find out how to clean it. Inside the spring I detected a piece of folded paper. I unfolded it between two pieces of glass, to save it and take photos. This is what it looks like:

    c.jpgb.jpga.jpg

The note seems to come from a newspaper with some kind of business news and is cut precisely. Was it simply to prevent noises from the spring or is a a hidden message? Has anyone found something similar?

... I am totally with the treasure theory. When I finally know where to search and have no success I will try a "time warp" to find the right spot: "Its just a jump to the left - and then a step to the right" ...

The center attraction is made of several parts that are glued together. It has plastic and metal parts to clean. The metal springs cannot be cleaned easy in place but they can be loosened on one side. Unfortunately they cannot be taken out without risks of destroying plastic parts.

My idea to clean the springs (photos):

    - lift the nail that holds the spring on the backside with a needle loosens the spring.
    - the spring can be bent to the front, mostly 90% is now outside and can be cleaned mechanically.
    - to get the spring back I use a fishing line, so I can pull the spring back through the hole in the backside and fix it again.

Thank you again for the community for help and encouragement. I will take a break in restoration and be back in some weeks.

The old Heiwa machine will work again ...

A big thank you to @SibSr who printed the missing parts and sent them to me last week.

This is the most kind forum I know - having experience in a German brewer forum, I learned this well. You get all help here, even if you make spelling mistakes or the answer is already somewhere in the forum - no reproaches at all. This is the kindness I was looking for.

Now to SibSr 's excellent work: The parts fit exactly and will bring my machine back to life - if I finally manage to clean and rebuild the whole machine. I redesigned some other missing parts for this specific HEIWA machine. I will post these 3d printer parts (when they are finally tested) by the end of the year - my chance to give something back.

    It is finally done ;-)

The restoration process went better than expected, mostly because assembling was quite easier to me than expected:

    1arrival.jpg2dirtyfront.jpg3dirtyback.jpg4cleancenter.jpg5assembly.jpg

I had to design and print a few parts with my 3D printer. SibSr invited me to post them in his thread „3d part repository“ and I will do that soon.

In the end SibSr’s printed parts finally brought the machine back to work - thank you again for this incredible help!

Now the whole system works well and it is so much fun to play … the whole family wants more pachinko ;-). It is an old machine and I am really surprised that everything is still working after massive cleaning and putting it together.

One bigger issue had to be solved: It happened a little bit too often, that the payout did not get refilled. If this happened, the final position of the hammer was underneath the yellow moving part. I could correct the problem in three steps:

    1. The upper brass arm that lifts the white payout plastic arm had o be bent a little bit forward.

    2. The arm that is hit by the winning ball - down in the machine - was a little bit bent to the side and had to be corrected. By the way: Any other adjustments down there made things only worse.

    3. And finally: The „hammer“ of the payout system did not move fast enough. So I attached a weight - normally used for fishing - and connected it with some thin flower wire. But now the weight touches the plastic cover every time the payout is activated. Not really a problem at the moment, but any better idea or known solution is welcome.
