Question Question Regarding P Pachinko Machines and Ball Circulators

    Hello!

I currently have a CR machine with a ball circulator and a Daverob CR emulator (Rev. 3). This is great because I can use the ball loan feature and dispense balls from the prize tank without every having to manually handle the balls.

However, I have a P machine on order, and from my understanding the CR emulator isn't compatible with them.

Is there any way I can use a circulator on the P machine in a manner that negates manual ball handling, or do I have to keep manually refilling the shooter tray (or prize tank if I run the circulator to the shooter tray directly)?

    Thanks!

I have used this simple mod on the one modern machine, I have, for well over 10 years. It's simple and works.

Thank you all for welcome and for the info!

Once my machine comes in I'll try that mod out.

That’s not true that Dave’s CR dongles don’t work on “P” machines; who told you that?

I’ve got several late model “P” machines (Sankyo “Splash!!” for example); that work just fine with Dave’s dongle and card readers! No issues with various other manufacturers either…

    Thanks for the reply!

Sorry about the misunderstanding with the dongle compatibility, I was going off the compatibility section of his website that said machine names would be preceded by "CR" in their names, so I thought the "P" machines wouldn't be applicable.

But, if his dongle works with them then I'll happily get another as I love using it with my current machine.

No problem! It’s a non-issue, I had the same thought years ago but it was unfounded!

It doesn’t seem to make any difference in CR vs P; a particular frame (that the dongle plugs into) can play both CR or P cells. It’s the frame that’s got to be compatible with Dave’s dongle; not the letter naming “CR vs P” of the cell board itself.
