Well in 2017 I bought a 2017 Chevrolet Volt Lt and have loved driving it up until last Friday December 1 , 2023 .

It all began as a inquiry about my electronic Drive Units Fluid change out and a short talk with the service department .

I decided to check out the New 2023 Bolt E.U.V. and was told a group of six or so is on the other side of the show room .

I went there and saw all the different versions that they had and was curious about how ergonomic is the insides so a sales associate showed up and no sales talk from him just which on do you want to see the insides so . . . I checked out the insides of the medium high version and to make a story short

I got a Ghost Grey Metallic Lt version with Heated sports steering wheel and Heated/ Cooled seats and no moon roof / sunroof open air roof .

About a 250 mile range with very good Regeneration during driving and up to 35 amps Fast charge (around a hour for 80% charge 200 miles )

But since my Apartment complex is vintage early 1970's built I have to seek the Charge stations . The dealership is giving a $400 charge smart card to me to get me started.

I am still getting use to the change from Hybrid to Full Electric so please bear with me folks .

I am Very lucky to be in California for this next edition of my life.

I got my EV go $500.00 charging credit in the mail this last Saturday .

I found out that on the EVgo Fast charger if you got say 35 miles range left and plug it in it will start at 51 kW charging level and stops at 194 miles which is 80% charge.

You can go to a level two charger that is 240volts dc to charge up to No More that 230 miles range .

I am now meeting more and more folks who decided to get the Cheapest New EV in the United States Bolt EUV and they ask how am I enjoying it so yes I'm in California the "Charge Baby Charge" State .

I also found out that last year they make a Police / S.pecial S.ervice V.ehicles Versions of the Bolt EUV that have the updated ultium Lithium Phosphate batteries ,Charging electronics and Drive train that the Cadillac Lyric has and will fast charge up to 350kw in 15 minutes to 80% .


So you can understand my dismay that the CEO of G.M. says that they will stop making the Bolt EUV this year 2024 and then rerelease The Bolt EUV with this Battery/ Power Train/ High Fast charging (350kw) in 2025

They are already making this special service vehicle last year why do they want to change the Orion Michigan plant to make Electric Silverado trucks ?


The Electric Hummer was the Biggest Mistake that G.M. Boneheads made and they only sold less than 60 of them in 2023 and now they are discontinuing this major mess and waste of technology

G.M. did a very Stupid thing with the EV 1 in 2000 by taking all of them and destroying them in Arizona by Crushing them and then the ones they let school and car museums they Disabled them so they wouldn't be seen on the streets driving down the road .

Oh well. I got my Ghost Grey beauty and I love it.

I really wish the US had some more normal small EVs that normal people could afford instead of more giant $80,000 trucks!! Come on car companies, get with it!!
