Panic SarurS not reseting

I just picked up a Panic Saurus machine, when I first got the machine had a E4 in the win Icon. tried to "hard reset" and the win I con lit up to a 1 and lights went out. I can change the number as if I were changing the odds (1-6) I removed the power supply and checked continuity and all resets checked out good, replaced and reconnected the power supply and checked board above the reels for connections reseating the connections.
Machine lit back up, with the E4 back in the win Icon. tried hard reset lights out, 1 back in the win Icon.

Do you have plenty of tokens in the payout hopper?

yes Plenty, but I got it to reset with the "red button" the machine is a Yamasa brand, built in 2002 serial #809771
I got the machine to reset but no sound, no 0 in the payoiut and the coin light not on to receive coins

You could have a faulty optical amplifier i.c. for the sound .

The machine will not let me hard reset, when I try to, the lights go off and I am back at square one.
Where is the optical amp located what does it look like. By chance would it be possible that it is also the root of the other issues?

The amplifier i.c. would be on the circuit board that has wires going to the speakers attached to it .

thanks again for the help and suggestions. I love to tinker, sometimes I get over my head, just have to set back for a min and regain my thoughts.
