Default Nishijin Sophia B from my childhood

When I was little in the 70s, my dad was stationed overseas and brought back this pachinko machine, I think from Turkey (not positive on that). About 15 years ago he was going to have a garage sale and I saw it and grabbed it and it’s been sitting in the corner of my garage ever since.

I’m finally putting together a game room so I’ve pulled it out to look at it basically for the first time since I was a kid. It seems to be complete and intact, aside from missing the track cover. The jackpot works, but for the life of me I can’t get it to launch a ball. I have balls in the jackpot dispenser so the flag in front is raise, which from what I understand would allow the balls to launch.

Can someone look at the video I will post a link to and offer suggestions on what’s going wrong with it? I am also posting pics of the machine just to share. Thanks!

    Welcome Aboard

    Cool centre feature.
Sorry I'm a more modern guy, But I'm sure one of the vintage experts will be along soon.

But I do know that if you win too many balls and don't empty the front trays. That can stop the shooter working. So I would look at the metal rod going horizontially from the plastic in the centre to the shooter assembly.

Thanks, I did read something about that last night and kind of looked at it, but didn’t see anything obvious that was causing the issue. Hopefully I’ll get a few more replies. Meanwhile, here is a video of my machine.

Everything looks right. Check for a blockage in the mechanism inside the door, and make sure all the wires engage properly.

I know, sort of vague, I'd send some pics except I'm at work right now.

And I agree, really cool center feature!

Okay so I started investigating a little further and figured out how to open the machine up a little more. I found a dime lodged in the shooting mechanism. Pulled it out and viola! Video below on how it came apart in case anyone else has this issue. Now to start cleaning it up and to make a cabinet for it.

Should have watched the vid first.

Open the front glass and lower door. Check for the tab on the piece the laucher moves.20190426_201232-1.jpg

Also inspect the ball loader for any blockage are damage to the piece that interacts with the tab mentioned to load the next ball.20190426_201238-1.jpg

My personal favorite machine. I have 2.....both refurbished; one with a complete playfiled replacement. I spent a lot of time on the sharks.......20BCD3E4-9F4A-4270-A4A6-DF68AC43352A.jpeg0F2E07B9-22EE-4600-A2AA-0A15F2A1F855.jpeg
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?
