Default found original sales receipt in the back!

i got bored last night. i have a friend repairing a couple cards for my machine and one for card shark. so i decided i would tear down the innards of my machine to sand and stain the inside of the box. first i was relatively surprised how quick and easy dis-assembly was. maybe 15 minutes tops anyways when i pulled out the transformers i found the original sales receipt folded up and stuck behind it.

as you can see from the picture it was purchased at Pachinko Palace on Long Island Feb 5, 1974. a whopping $299.00 in '74. todays equivalent of $1513.00!! and note the 6 month guarantee. i am more impressed with the warranty than the price.

anyways i am going to laminate the receipt and attach it to the inside back wall of the machine.

in 1974 a new small color tv or vhs recorder was over $299.99.

but, you could buy a reliable running used car for 200 bucks and drive it for a year with no major problems

I was making around 10 bucks an hour back then in Illinois

what were regular pachinko machines selling for in 1974? my father flew on Air Force One when i was a kid and he brought home three from japan in around 1973 or 1974. i know he would have never bought them here at anywhere near that price. heck at 10% of that he would have balked!
i remember all the items he brought home from around the world! always something odd in my opinion.

That's really cool. I wouldn't have guessed they cost that much back then.
I found the sales receipt for a Powerflash in the machine. I don't rennet the total but I think it was around a hundred bucks and included the metal feet and a couple hundred balls. Also from around that time and also from Pachinko Palace.

Back then, Japan had many pachinkos they had to get rid of, so i would think they sold for a few bucks each, the major cost to buyers was from shipping and handling when they left japan.

Wow..I didn't expect it to be that much back then!! There have been a few old magazine ads and pages from xmas catalogs posted in the past with the pachinko prices, but I can't remember what they were..

I do know they were under $100..

Howdy Folks In 1976 I bought my first real Japanese Pachinko "The Castle" from ToysRUs in Milwaukee,Wisconsin for the whopping sum of $30.00 . Of course I was only making around $6.00 per hour back then
