Default Parts needed: Ball tray '76 Sankyo Horse Racing

    1976 Horse Racing - VP0066 - a set on Flickr

Hopefully someone can help. Restoring a 76 Sankyo machine. In pretty good shape other than the ball feeding tray which is broken.

Unable to post pictures at the moment so I have posted pictures taken from Vintagepachinko.com site.

Also, any suggestions on best product to use for cleaning the ball storage tray/ashtray? It's actually in good shape just needs polishings.

    Thanks

Default Part Needed: Ball Feeding/receiving tray Sankyo 76 Horse Racing

Recently picked up a 76 Sankyo Horse Racing model machine. In pretty good shape other than a badly broken ball feeding/receiving tray.

Wondering if anyone has one they want to get rid of?

Also, what is everyone's thoughts on cleaning and or polishing the ball storage/ashtray?

Picture link is taken from Vintage Pachinko as my camera seems to be misplaced.

Do you specifically want the metal lower tray or would you also take the plastic version?

I don't have one myself to give up but that is something that is good to know for others who might have one that will work.

Cleaning the ashtray. I pour straight simple green in it and let it sit for a few days. Come back scrub it really good and the do it again. You shouldn't have to do it more than about 3 times. After it is all clean I go and polish it up, I use a buffing wheel but, mothers mag polish and some elbow grease should work fine. After that I put a coat of gloss clear over it. I do that so it won't oxidize and have to be polishing it again each month or so.

    100 machines and counting...

Actually it's the blue plastic tray I need. I may have used the wrong term. Does that piece also come in a metal version?

On the upper tray. Alright. Yeah that comes in only plastic. Confusion solved there.

Sadly I still don't have one I can give up.

Being new to the hobby, is this a common machine?

It is sorta common. Not as common as a Nishijin machine but it isn't impossible to find parts for. (well at times. always seems like when you need a part you can never find it.)

I see you have 106 machines. That is amazing. I now have four. They are very hard to come by in this part of Canada. Luckily I picked this one up for $25. I knew this part was broken beyond repair but I figured it is worth it even though I will have to have the piece mailed from the U.S.

Vintage Pachinko has the piece but they say it is faded possibly from the sun or nicotine. Combined with shipping it would come to $75.

I'm hoping to better than that.

I can't tell what is broken in the picture. Can you please post a picture of the broken part? Or maybe I'm just missing it.

Just finished up cleaning up one like yours. I added some lights; to each his own...

The picture shown is a stock photo from Vintagepachinko museum. The broken part is the blue tray that feeds the launcher. CarlW, I notice your photo labels the machine "Derby", can you tell me where this name comes from? I also PM'd you. I hope it went through.

Call it that because it says "Derby" on the part... there is not an official name.
