Default New guy with his old machine

Hi everyone! I have had this machine since the 70's and the other day I decided to drag it out of it's box and look it over. My daughter is 8 now and had never seen this machine so I let her run some balls threw it and she begged me to put it in her room. One thing led to another and I found this site. Great site btw! So much info here on how to care for your machine. Here are a few pics since I keep reading how much you guys like pics.

I took much of the back apart and did some cleaning and all that's left is to fabricate some legs and let her play.

Forgot to ask, any idea how old it is? I got it as a Christmas present and hauled it around all those years but I can't quite remember when I got it. Grew up in Chicago, anyone know who retailed these machines back then?

Pachinko Palace was one of the retailers and there was at least one other that escapes me at the moment. Some machInes out there still have stickers on them from the retailers. That's another interesting aspect of pachinko history that there doesn't seem to be much info on. Such as volume imported, prices, etc. The Pachinko Factory may have been the name of another importer/seller now that I think about it.

Looks to be a 1976, but I have to say that is one seriously funky machine! I've not seen anything like that one.

Welcome to the PachiTalk community! What a great looking machine and in such wonderful condition too! You and your daughter have a keeper there!

I concur with a date of manufacture around 1976. Back in the mid to late 1970's you could order these machines through the Sears or JC Penney catalog, and some Montgomery Ward stores sold them off the shelf. Of course you could also get them from Pachinko Palace and The Pachinko Factory as emmadog mentions.

Thank you for the warm welcome! And thanks for the info. Mom liked to shop at Wards back then so my guess would be there. Looking at all the pics of the more common machines I agree it is unusual. Cool thing is it works perfectly and is all there other than whatever they removed when the pulled it out of the parlor.

you forgot about Pier 1 Imports. (don't know if there were / are many of those in the central states.)

And to pachitalk. Glad to see new members around here.

love the marhuon (I think that is what it is. I know I have one but mine is missing the lower tray )

... and Target Abroad. I think there were many places selling these machines back when they were the "in" toy to have.

Very interesting machine and looks to be in super condition!!

It's always great to hear that children are enjoying these machines, my little boy is 6 and he absolutely loves to play one of my vintages, a 70's mahjong arrangeball, he seems to prefer that to the modern pachinkos at the moment.

I'm sure your daughter will have great fun playing too

Nope on the owls, she likes the game a lot and it is now in her room where she can enjoy it. After I added the legs I took a couple more pics of the lower tray. This game has so much cool detail and I found where you can adjust the striker spring so I slowed it down a bit so she can put more balls into play. Neat stuff.

yeah I'm missing the lower tray on my machine. All I have of the tray is the ashtray that is suppose to go in it. thanks for the pics. It at least shows me what the tray should look like. I might end up making my own (I have my ways of doing it )

can you post a pic of the under and the back side of the tray for me please. (don't take it off to take them it is okay with how it sits just from the back of the machine and the bottom will be fine)

Happy to help! I actually had it off today, the bolts are imbedded in the plastic and run thru the backboard where they are secured by nuts. You can see the bolts and the 2 nuts and washers/lock washers in the 3rd and 4th pictures. If you need any other pics lemme know.
