    Default King Camel LED's

Can't seem to get an answer to this one, maybe someone here can help (Gwarzin :?: ). King Camel has a Game Count LED on the front panel. On my KC, that LED has never been lit. On either side of that LED, there is a small blue lens with a scene painted on them. They don't light up either. I tried cleaning the contacts and re-seating the connectors on both ends of the monster cable. No joy.

Joseph at Grandview told me that his techs said that they have never seen the Game Count or the blue lenses light up. Nope, not ever.

Hard Boiled and several other Sammy's have the same layout.

It doesn't seem likely that they would put those devices on the machine if they weren't supposed to be functional. The videos on Sammy's website show the LED with numbers on it during a bonus game. I can't tell if the blue lenses are lit or not. I would like them to work as intended, because little things like that drive me nuts. How likely is it that Pachinko Pallace would swap out that 9,000 pin cable?

Any of you fellow KC owners have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Neither the game count LED nor the blue areas light up on mine. I have talked to several other King Camel owners and none of them have ever seen it light up either.

I also have seen the video on the Sammy site showing a number on the game counter, but it is always possible that the video was made using a prototype machine well before the real machine went into production.

So, until someone actually sees one light up in the flesh, I think we have to assume that Grandview is correct and it really does sit there and do nothing.

My Aladdin-A (older Sammy) has the game count and the blue lit-up areas either side of it. The game counter is active in the bonus round, and the machine occasionally goes through a stage where the blue areas are lit. I'm not sure what the significance is, but They do occasionally light up. Maybe they're standard items on Sammy machines, but not programmed as part of some of the games

Yes. I've got other Sammy machines and they use the identical board. I guess they try to standardize on as many common parts as possible. Since the artwork is unique to each machine, you'd think they would have covered over the game counter. Maybe they changed the way the game played at the last minute. Or maybe there's a surprise waiting for us when we end up discovering a hidden bonus mode.

Only had mine about a month and mine don't lite up either.
Super Secret bonus mode would be cool tho! :smt025

I just got my King Camel and had been looking into way these lights do not work. The final answer that was given to me is that in Japan the machines are connected to each other and in certain cases players can play against each other and this LED counts the winnings of each machine. Sounds good to me?

:-) Hiya, George! Since posting the original question, I've gotten several different answers. Can't confirm or deny any of 'em. What you're saying makes sense tho. Pretty tricky, eh? The manufacturers aren't designing these machines to appeal to the aftermarket folks like us. So, why should they care if us Yanks have a rough time figgerin' out why certain lights do or don't work?

Lights or no lights, my wife loves Camel Joe (or whatever the H his name is).

BTW, welcome! You'll find this place very therapeutic...especially if you're lookin' for someone to validate your irrepressible urge to amass a big, loud, flashing pile of these devil machines!

Doesn't sound good to me. I've got a number of machines that use that same board (or ones with a very similar layout) and all of them use that center game counter LED to count games during some type of bonus play.

I think on KC it was just there in the original design, and then for some reason they decided not to use it. Maybe they ran into memory limitations and had to simplify the program and decided that having the game count only on the display to the right of the reels was good enough.

I just wish the little blue circles would light up, just once. :-) A very reputable vendor told me that the bonus count LED only lights during the AT50 bonus, the elusive 777. Well, no, it doesn't. And it never has, and no amount of futzing around with the connectors does any good either. I swear the designers are just doing this stuff to mess with me personally.

So the answer George got was BS, just like the answers I got. BS is BS, whether it sounds good or not. The rackinfratchin LED's just don't do anything. Great. I'm gonna go play some Dragon Dice before I turn in.

I don't know if it's relevant or not given that mine's not a King Camel. However, the Aristocrat Speed Racer I have looks like it has almost exactly the same layout on the Led's, blue lights, buttons and metal casing, in general.

It took about an hour of playing it before I got the thing to go into some type of bonus round at which point the middle LED and blue lights on both sides lit up. The LED has some number that started at somewhere between 100 and 200 and counted up for a little bit and then down as I continued to play. The blue lights stayed lit until the bonus round was over.

I do have mine set to the easiest setting at 6, so maybe it was a lot easier to get to that bonus round. Actually, during this bonus round it got ridicilously easy to win, and I even got the triple 777. It was strange, too, because a couple of times a video sequence would come showing a picture of a "replay" or a triple 777 and, lo and behold, when I finished pressing all three buttons that was the winning combination. Must be set on too easy of a level!

I've attached three photos of it in case it is relevant/comparable:

    Hope it helps!

Yep, that's the way most machines use that center LED counter. But on the KC they don't really need to use it because they display the game count number on the dot matrix display to the right of the reels.

TeeDubya, I just got my KC today (thanks again on the help with the volume control) and the LED works great on it.

I realize this thread is over 4 months old and maybe you have found the problem with yours already --- I hope so.

I haven't played it much yet, only about 500 tokens, but it displays "Sammy - presents King Camel"" when you first turn it on and if it sits idle for about 15 or 20 minutes or so.

A little guy will pop up on the LED every so often, maybe about 5 or 6 times during a 50 credit play and say "Haicchi" (sp) and helps with a win, be it replay, three bells or whatever. I don't know what happens with any of the bonus rounds yet. I've even seen the 3 camel faces (once, so far) like I saw on a video of a bonus round play.

It also shows a ball like thing before any of the reels spin backwards, and something is displayed when the guy yells "Yipee!"

I got mine from pachinko_pallace, maybe the folks there can help you solve your, and the others who are having this problem. I wish I could!

We weren't talking about the big LED display to the right of the reels. It's the game count display under the reels.

It makes me want to get two of these, just so I can figure out how to hook them up together...

I would love to make an interface board that connects to the relay board that shows the play-status and stuff... That way I could add extra lights and sound effects... Or, join all my machines into a compete mode... he with the most pay-outs wins, giving every-one 200 tokens to start.
