    Default FromJapan Auction

Hi, I'm currently eyeing on a big dream 2 machine from FromJapan and I just wanted to ask 2 questions.

    Listing - https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en...t/w1101286901/

    1. Is there anything that I should look out for when buying machines from Yahoo auction, like seller rating and etc..

    2. Im also planning to buy a 24V transformer (Link below) to power the machine, is this powerful enough to power the machine?

    Transformer - https://rlbs.ltd.uk/bar-lighting-tra...AaAtyZEALw_wcB

    Thanks.

For starters. That transformer is way to small. Will need at least 250va output or 300va.

Check to make sure it's not converted to cyclic as that will harm its value unless your cool with it. Also avoid machines that have botched auto play installed. That one looks safe on both accounts.

Next is shipping. Due to weight. Your going to have to ship it with a courier like FedEx or UPS. Its expensive. Used to be about £200, I think now it can be double that. It's been a while since I shipped a complete machine.

    Thanks for the reply

For the transformer, doesn't the machine run on 24V so wouldn't 250V kill the machine?

Using the website shipping fee calculator it estimated that the shipping fee is around 300£ (see screenshot)

Lastly, what does cyclic and auto play means in the context of pachinko?

Sorry, I assuming you mean a 24V and 10 Amp power supply. If that's the case do you have any recommendations for the transformer? Thanks.

    250va Volt x Amp. So a little over 10A

The one in the link is 96va or 4A

Farnell is a good place to get. Although it might 2x12v or 2x 24v depending on price and stock.

Shipping sounds about right. Might be a good idea to source some balls as well.

Cyclic- the internals of the machine have been modified so it plays on only 20 balls that go round and back to the front tray. But then no winnings or way to measure yourself.

Auto play. Is a timer that gets wired to the start pocket impulse to trigger the reels with out balls. Bad ones cut the start sensor wiring or remove the sensor although making it hard to put back to original without parts.

I would take those estimated shipping quotes with a grain of salt; as in that’s the BEST possible (cheapest) scenario! I seriously doubt they will ship a full pachinko for just 41,000 yen unless it was a lightweight vintage machine. Normally it’s at least 60,000+ yen.

I recently bought just a pachinko cell (under 30 lbs) for a newer Sankyo Neostella frame; “Splash” and FedEx shipping cost $257 ($40,000 yen) keep in mind just a cell weighs less than half of the weight of a full machine…. If I bought a full machine would be expecting closer to 70,000 yen

The FedEx delivery man just dropped off the cell I ordered. Here’s a picture of the size of the box; they used a very big box; foam filled for protection; but the cell itself is under 30lbs (full size machines are more like 70-90lbs ) This cost 40,000 for just Japan to US shipping.

The size of the playfields and cell size in general has ballooned in recent years…not to mention the weight of the machines has increased quite a bit.

The seller did not include a settings key but thankfully the key to my other cell (“Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon”) for this Neostella frame fits it!

    Looks like fun!

I haven't bought any individual cells yet, although there have been a few that have been tempting. For some reason recently I have been seeing a lot more cells on auction.
