Default Bought My First Modern Pachi! Super Sea Story

Well as it says above I just ordered my first modern Pachi! Is there anything I should check when it arrives? Any common problems is what I mean. I will check for any shipping damage & functionality for sure. It looks like a pachi that will provide lots of fun. It will be set in the wall where I have a cove with a fish tank right now. The fish have died after 10 years and my wife does not want any more so I thought this would be funny to put in its place when she goes out of town.

I bought a Super Sea Story as my first modern pachi in February. The first thing I recommend is to get the volume controls for each speaker!!! Even with the sound switch set to the lowest setting, the thing is still REALLY LOUD!!

Next would be Daverob's Card Reader Dongle. No modern machine should be without one.

    Enjoy your Sea Story!!

Nope, go ahead. Some really good high quality, close-up pics would be most welcome of the pin set, board colours and detail - whatever you can find with your macro lens.

No two pachis ever seem to be exactly alike, even of the same model and species, so go ahead and double-up!!

    And enjoy your new baby...

Guess I will have to break out the Nikon D90 with the Macro lens and get to work. Been busy at work but as soon as I have time I will get them up.

Here are a few pictures from my Iphone of the installed machine in the T.V. wall cove. Since there was an outlet inside the cove power was no problem but I did not want to have to open it every time I turned it on. I found a wireless outlet switch at harbor freight and it works like a charm. It plugs in to the outlet and you plug the machine in to it. Then you can mount the wireless switch up to 60" from the outlet. I put it next to the machine. It's all straight but my phone makes everything look crooked lol.

Just enjoy and realize more are coming... I got my first in December, I found this place now I have 2, a 3rd REALLY soon and by August well LETS say I am going to have to figure out a way to mount them on a nice table or something because I AM going to have a few... I may not have a whole lot of money but I WILL find what I need... This place is dangerous. In a good way...

Hopefully all you need to know about a dongle will either be on these forums (search for 'daverob dongle') or on my website.

The dongle is just a home version of the card readers you find in the Japanese pachinko parlours, I've got a little info about the card systems here, but it's mostly technical stuff I had to work out while I was designing the dongle.

The dongle can be used on it's own and it will simulate the pre-paid cards, or you can add the optional smartcard reader and have your own custom printed cards to use with it.

So the whole family has been playing the pachi since the install. My wife's friend comes over and my wife shows her how to do it and no more than a minute passes and she hits the fever lol. 3 crabs and 14 rounds later and that thing spitting out soooo many balls it was great. This was in the Hawaii Mode. I realized 2 things, #1 I really like that machine & #2 I need a lot more balls!

It looks great in the wall cove. The wireless outlet switch is a great idea.

It took me a few weeks to a month to get one with my Galaxy Railways! Every pachi has odds that you have to meet before you can hit a Fever too! So many reaches etc. I am SURE you'll hit one soon!!! When you hit that first one there is nothing like it! I Finally got one with my Yamato and it filled me with a kind of awe... It was ALMOST as good as blowing Desslock to bits with the wave motion Gun. ( i know inside baseball with the Yamato CR1 but you get the idea on the feeling! ) Once you get one you'll find others will come and you'll wish you had more pachinko balls...

Thanks I think it looks good in the wall too. Oh and it was a mis spell the switch works up to 60 feet not inches lol. As far as her being converted I am not sure. She just kept on saying I don't know what I did! LOL. Even though it was not one of us it was still fun to see it all happen live instead of a youtube video.
